Who Are We?
Chabad of Andorra was established in 2024 to serve the Jewish community of Andorra. Chabad of Andorra is a place where everyone is welcome, regardless of affiliation or prior level of knowledge. Its sole purpose is to create a warm, welcoming environment to explore and experience Judaism's warm and relevant spiritual inspirations in a non-judgmental and inviting atmosphere.
Since its inception, Chabad of Andorra has strived to meet the community's needs with religious services, social events, and an array of programming including, one-on-one coffee with the Rabbi, adult and children education and Jewish Holiday programming.
Chabad of Andorra is a local, independent and financially self-supporting entity. Every dollar that we receive comes from the generosity of people like you.
Meet the Kalmensons
Rabbi Kuty Kalmenson grew up in Brooklyn, NY before pursuing studies in Jewish thought and practice first in NY and then in Detroit, MI, and in the Holy land of Israel. He received his Rabbinical ordination in the Chabad Central Yeshiva located in Brooklyn NY. His infectious optimism and joyful personality drive his commitment and dedication to his community.
Mrs. Rochel Kalmenson was born and raised in Bahia Blanca, Argentina, where she lived with her family as the Rebbe's Shluchim (emissaries) to the city. After completing high school in New York, she graduated from Beth Chana Teachers College in Safed, Israel. Subsequently, she spent a year in Moscow for teacher training, concentrating on religious education and pedagogical techniques.
The Kalmensons, along with their children, established and operated the Chabad Community Center in Ningbo, China, for nearly ten years. They were deeply passionate and committed to fulfilling the Lubavitcher Rebbe's vision of creating a space where every Jew could feel at home. They dedicated their lives to sharing the warmth and love of authentic Judaism with all who sought it.
In recent years, as the local Jewish population left Ningbo, the Kalmensons were ready to embark on their next mission of opening yet another Chabad Center wherever it would be needed.
In November of 2024, they moved to Andorra to open the very first Chabad in the country.
